COMPUSOFT ENGINEERING were engaged to carry out a vibration mitigation study on a 37m x 25m concrete foundation for a generator and associated equipment. Foundation thickness varied from 1.35 to 2.75m and was supported by precast driven piles.

A frequency domain analysis was performed allowing for loading of different magnitude, frequency and phase. The response of the foundation at various support points were assessed as a function of frequency. The response was checked for its sensitivity to soil stiffness to ensure confidence in the solution.
