Project: Mt Wellington Quarry Evaluation of Structure Response

Client: Winstone Aggregates Ltd

Compusoft were engaged to carry out a study of ground and building vibration response to blasting at the Mt Wellington Quarry. The objective was to develop relationships from free-field, foundation, and structure spectra that would allow for the evaluation of peak floor velocities of typical residential structures in the area surrounding the quarry from free field measurements.

In particular, this Project required the site measurement, processing and evaluation of blast induced vibration data and the assessment of frequency transfer functions from ground motion spectra. COMPUSOFT developed a site specific structure response spectrum for this project.
