DYNAMIC EVALUATION AND RETROFIT OF PRINCES WHARF

Client: Buller George Engineers

Princes Wharf is a 336m long wharf on the Auckland City waterfront which has undergone a major redevelopment. Compusoft were engaged to carry out a seismic evaluation of the redeveloped wharf. Activities included non-linear time-history analyses of the wharf structure, assessment of the ductility capacity of the existing concrete structure, and the development and design of a new added damping restraint system comprising of a series of raked piles attached to the wharf through lead rubber bearings.
