Civic Theatre Seismic Assessment Review, Auckland, NZ

Project: CIVIC THEATRE

Client: Auckland City

The Civic Theatre is a Heritage listed building located in central Auckland.

COMPUSOFT were engaged to carry out a detailed review of the nonlinear time history analysis used as a basis for the design of the seismic retrofit of this structure. This project was the driver for the development of the computer program URM-3DX and it allowed for an independent review of the accuracy of other computer programs. Our review also included a full check of the model used for the design including element hysteretic forms, pier rocking criteria and the scaling of earthquakes.
